Did you know that if you can see or read newsprint through your diamond, it’s not actually a diamond? It really pays to educate yourself about your precious jewelry as you are investing a great deal of money, as well as sentiment, in it. Sndgems.com have buyers guide for Sapphire Rings Ruby Rings Emerald Rings and more.

Find out what the current trends in jewelry are too. If you are looking for a timeless classic diamond engagement ring, best to steer away from the latest fashion cuts. In my opinion, nothing beats a classic cut solitaire with a plain band. I also love a princess cut set in platinum, but I wonder if that would be too contemporary to hold it’s own over the years. Perhaps I should try getting engaged before I worry about the ring!

Sndgems.com have a clever ‘Design Your Ring’ wizard. You et to choose from 9 styles of setting and 11 cuts of diamond for your centre and side stones. Sizes range from .25 – 2.50 carats. Also, Free online help and toll free numbers mean you will receive expert assistance with your purchase and payment. They also offer free shipping and have a 30 day returns policy. Wedding Anniversary Rings Eternity Rings can be found on the site to suit all budgets and tastes.

One thing to check out is having your setting ‘cold set’. It can be stronger than the usual ‘hot set’ and hold your diamond with greater strength.

When buying certified diamond jewelry online, finding value for money doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice quality. The jewelry market has never been more competitive and there are excellent bargains to be had if you keep an eye out. Sndgems.com offer professional service, unbeatable pricing and best of all, a massive range of jewelry from birthday gemstone to Diamond Rings Wedding & Engagement Rings.

In this era of cell phones, I know many people who no longer wear a wrist watch.  In fact I was one of them, until the first time I went overseas with my cell.  I figured my cell would tell me what the time was, like it did every day at home.  Wrong!  My cell didn’t work at all and I had to actually buy a watch to keep track of time.  I’ve also started rebelling against this culture of having one’s phone on one at all times.  What happened to the days when a boy called me to ask me on a date, on an actual phone, and kept calling until I was home?  Have cell phones taken the mystery out of dating?  We are at everyone’s beck and call, all the time.

But no longer!  I turn my personal cell off at work and after about 10pm at home.  I frequently go out and leave my phone at home (gasp!) if I am meeting a reliable friend.  Why do I need my cell phone beeping away in my purse?  I’m not one of those ill mannered people who talk or text while they are having lunch with someone.

Which brings me to watches. I implore you, go back to wearing a wrist watch and relegate the cell phone to it’s proper place - as a convenience, not an essential-glued-to-the-ear piece of equipment.  What’s so important that you have to tell someone RIGHT THIS VERY SECOND, anyway?

To whet your appetite for a new watch, check out www.grayandsons.com. I love ease and convenience when it comes to shopping.  I hate crowds and not having a bit of peace and quiet to compare products and prices.  This site is set up so well - it’s very user friendly.  You can search for watches by style or price.  For example, you can search dress watches, women’s watches etc, and you can search within the categories by price range.  Or just search by price range and see what takes your fancy.  I’m a bargain shopper and I have my eye on some of the buys in the pre-owned Rolex  area.  Buy someone you love a watch for the Holidays and release them from the tyranny of the cell phone clock!  Check out what they have under estate jewellery - there are usually some great bargains in this niche too.

Need some extra cash?  Sell watches and jewellery on the site as well - no point in having things lying around that are valuable but you don’t use them or want them.

There is also a fabulous range of vintage watches including a diamond ladies Longines that is to die for.

Plus, watches are just a great fashion accessory.  I love those Tag Huer ads with Brad Pitt and Uma Thurman - so stylish.  I hate fossicking around in my purse looking for my damn cell just to see the time.  So I have gone back to wearing a wrist watch.  You should too ;-)
